Here are a couple of bits and pieces that we recommend you use to help give your invitations that professional look. Everything listed below can be found at your local art shop and are very reasonably priced.
Magnetic Stickers
Adding a magnet to the back of your invitation gives it that professional touch. It also makes it easy for your guests to display the invitation on their fridge. Sticky on one side, and magnetic on the other, you simply peel the magnet from the backing paper and stick it down on your invitation. Its that easy. You should be able to pick up either a roll, or single strip of magnetic stickers from your local art store for just a few dollars.
Ink Jet Printable Card
Invites printed on your home printer will look more professional if you use an ink-jet printable card instead of plain paper. Anything between 150gsm - 250gsm paper thickness will be fine. Just pop down to your local art shop and find the 'ink-jet printable' card stocks. Canford is one well known brand. You should be able to pick up an A4 sheet of card for around 95 cents each, and generally you will get 2 - 3 invitations out of one A4 piece.
What to look for:
Your local art shop may have different types of card, such as pearlecent, metallic or linen. There is no right or wrong choice, simply choose a texture that you like best. You must however make sure the card is printable on ink-jet printers, otherwise it may get jammed in your printer. We also suggest that you stick to some shade of white (or a very light colour) so that your invitation details are clearly visible when printed.
Coloured Card
Some of our invitations require a coloured card to mount your invitations on. Your local art shop will have a large selection of paper colours to choose from, so just pick one that you think would best suit your invitation. We provide colour suggestions with the invitation's instructions. A single piece of A4 card (at around 250gsm) will cost around 95 cents each, and generally you will get between 2 - 3 invitations out of one A4 piece.
Paper Trimmer
A paper trimmer lets you easily slice up your printed A4 sheets into the correct size for your invite. All invitations are specifically designed to have straight edges to make putting them together as simple as possible. If you cannot get your hands on a paper trimmer, a ruler and cutting knife would also do the trick. Just remember to have a cutting board underneath when you are cutting so as not to damage the surface of your work area.
